OMB Bank is pleased to announce that experienced mortgage lender Ben Porras has joined its Kansas City-area mortgage team as vice president, mortgage loan officer.
Porras brings nearly 15 years of residential lending experience and a strong track record of helping clients navigate the home financing process. Most recently a loan officer with NEXA Mortgage LLC, he has also held key roles at Union Home Mortgage—where he led the Overland Park branch for nearly a decade—and at both Fountain Mortgage and Citywide Mortgage, where he began his career in 2010. His background includes expertise in FHA, VA, conventional and jumbo loans, and he is known for building trusted referral networks with realtors, builders and financial professionals across the region.
At Union Home Mortgage, Porras managed branch operations and led a team of loan officers and support staff while maintaining high-volume loan production and delivering consistently strong performance year over year. Across his career, he has earned a reputation for combining operational excellence with a client-first approach.
“Ben brings both experience and leadership to our team,” said Michael Frerking, director of residential lending at OMB Bank. “He understands what it takes to guide homebuyers through the process and has built a strong network in the Kansas City market. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Porras is a licensed mortgage loan originator in Kansas and Missouri and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Park University in Parkville, Mo.
