OMB Bank has been named to the 2026 Biz 417 Best Places to Work list in the Large Employer category, marking the Springfield-based community bank’s first ever appearance on the list.

Now in its sixth year, the awards program is produced by Biz 417 in partnership with Best Companies Group. The 2026 list recognizes top honorees in three categories: Small employers, mid-size employers and large employers.

“Being named one of the Best Places to Work is especially meaningful because it reflects the experiences and feedback of our employees,” said Mark Harrington, CEO of OMB Bank. “We’ve worked hard to build a culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to grow professionally while making a real impact for our customers and communities. As we continue to grow, maintaining that culture remains one of our highest priorities.”

Today, OMB employs more than 250 team members across OMB Bank and its embedded finance division OMBX, including employees working remotely throughout the country. The company’s culture emphasizes collaboration, professional development and community involvement, while offering employees opportunities to grow within a fast-evolving organization that still maintains the personal connections and values of a community bank.

Recognition on the Best Places to Work list is earned, not given. Companies must meet category-specific thresholds based primarily on anonymous employee feedback.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have at least 10 full or part-time employees working in the southwest Missouri region;
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
  • Be a publicly or privately held business;
  • Have a facility in the 417 region; and
  • Be in business for a minimum of one year.

OMB Bank will be recognized at the Biz 417's Best Places to Work awards ceremony on Wednesday, September 2. Final rankings will be announced at the event, posted at Biz417.com/bestplaces, and published in the September/October 2026 issue of Biz 417.

About Biz 417's Best Places to Work

The 2026 Biz 417's Best Places to Work list recognizes companies across three categories: small employers (10–50 U.S. employees), mid-size employers (51–149 U.S. employees) and large employers (150 or more U.S. employees).

Recognition is based primarily on anonymous employee feedback, with companies required to meet category-specific thresholds to be named. The program is produced by Biz 417 in partnership with Best Companies Group, which manages the survey process, analyzes the data and determines the final rankings. The evaluation weighs each company's workplace policies, practices and demographics (approximately 25%) and an anonymous employee experience survey (approximately 75%).
